Myofascial Release & Clinical Massage

Myofascial release is the release of chronic tension, stress and pain; leading to greater ease and range of movement.

What is fascia? Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every muscle, bone, organ, blood vessel and nerve fiber. In particular, our muscle fascia tissue is a continuous and omnipresent membrane which wraps every muscle and every division of tissue within the muscle. When functioning well, our fascia serves as an elastic lubricant which helps our tissues glide, providing us with our natural ease and range of movement. However, due to things like physical or emotional trauma, aging and habit patterns our fascia can become inelastic and restrictive, resulting in pain, tightness and lack of mobility. Myofascial release is a highly effective technique which restores our fascia to its natural state, restoring ease and range of motion along with a reduction in pain, stress and physical tension.
